Our Bible Study Method

"Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened the Scriptures to us?" Luke 24:32

We utilize the Inductive Bible Study Method, equipping students to properly observe, interpret and apply the entire Scriptures. This method seeks to understand the scriptures from the perspective of original author and audience and ultimately produce life-changing application in today’s context.

Typical Homework | On Campus or at Home

  • Read through entire book before class

  • Fill-out structural outline

  • Chart assigned chapters from each book using the Inductive Method

  • One-page Inductive Summary on major themes and applications of book

WHAT TO EXPECT IN CLASS
Instructors provide essential historical background, major themes and interpretive keys for studying each book. Teachers will then teach through the text.

Typical Class Day | On Campus

8:15-8:40 | Community Breakfast
8:45-9:30 | Devo time - Worship, prayer, etc
9:30-12:30 | Class/Lecture

*School calendar follows Seminole county schools calendar. Occasionally, due to federal holidays, classes will be held on Tuesday.

Relational Discipleship

Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us. I Thess. 2:8

Emmaus is committed to the growth of students, not just in intellectual knowledge of Scripture, but as followers of Christ.

1-on-1 Discipleship

Every student will meet for 1-on-1 discipleship with a staff member every other week for encouragement, accountability, and prayer together. This is an important component of the 10-month program.

Life in Community

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42

Emmaus believes that true spiritual growth happens within the context of relationships. The School is designed so that students leave not only with Biblical knowledge, but also the experience of living in a gospel-centered community of authentic disciples.
